Multiple Mosaic Cards

For systems that require more than nine video windows, multiple Mosaic cards can be installed. There are many possible configurations with two methods of connecting Mosaic cards to iH4-DIG cards.

Method 1:

Each Mosaic (maximum of four), is connected to all iH4-DIG, (maximum of eight), in the system. This allows any Mosaic window to be displayed anywhere on the desktop. Maximum screens = 32 and 36 video windows.

When the MBM-H2 or MBM-H4 is used in the system this allows up to eight iH4-DIG cards to be used in the system. Maximum screens = 32 and 36 video windows.

Method 2:

If more than 36 video windows or more than 32 screens are required, the wall can be arranged so that the windows are displayed over part of the wall. Each iH4-DIG card is configured to control a particular group of four screens using Wall Control software. You can decide how many video windows are required for each group of four screens that will be controlled by the iH4-DIG. For each iH4-DIG, connect up to four Mosaic cards, this allows you up to 36 video windows for each set of four screens. If a number of video windows are to be displayed over more than four screens or need to be moved over more than four screens, then the Mosaic cards can be connected to each iH4-DIG card over which the video windows must be displayed.

Rules for Connecting Mosaics:

• Each Mosaic can be connected to a maximum of eight iH4-DIG when using the MBM
• Each iH4-DIG can be connected to a maximum of four Mosaic Cards
• Video windows from a particular Mosaic card can only appear on the screens to which the iH4-DIG card it is attached

Restrictions:

• The maximum number of video windows on a single screen is nine
• Video windows from separate Mosaic cards cannot be displayed on the same screen

Maximum Configuration:

• 8 x iH4-DIG cards = 32 screens (using the MBM-H4)
• 16 x Mosaic cards = 144 video overlay windows

• Mosaic-xxxx - Mosaic card supplied with a specific cable set (xxxx) for example Mosaic-M2H1
• Mosaic-NRC - Mosaic card with no ribbon cable set

Cable Sets

• M2H1-cable - Connects one or two Mosaic cards to one iH4-DIG card
• M4H1-cable - Connects four Mosaic cards to one iH4-DIG card
• M2H4-cable - Connects one or two Mosaic cards to one, two, three or four iH4-DIG cards
• M4H4-cable - Connects four Mosaic cards to one, two, three or four iH4-DIG cards

The Mosaic is a PCI plug-in card which has been designed to operate in conjunction with the Datapath iH4-DIG graphics card. The Mosaic, when combined with the iH4-DIG, provides up to nine separate video windows. For systems that require more than nine windows, up to four Mosaic cards can be installed giving a total of 36 video windows.
