To carry out a screen grab, follow these simple steps:
- Ensure that the window you wish to grab is the active window on the desktop, to activate it click the cursor inside the window
- Once the window is activated, press the Ctrl + Alt + Print Scrn keys on the keyboard. This copies an image of the active window and stores it on a clipboard
- If you are asked to grab the whole screen and not an application window just press the Print Scrn key
- Open Microsoft® Paint by selecting Start/ Programs/ Accessories/ Paint
- When Microsoft® Paint has been selected the following dialog is displayed:

- Using the Edit menu select Paste
- NOTE: A warning may appear stating that the clipboard is larger than the bitmap, if it does select Yes
- The Screen Grab will now appear in the Microsoft® Paint window
- Select File/ Save and the following dialog will appear:

- Browse to the required folder, type in a relevant File Name and click on Save
- The Screen Grab is now saved as a .bmp file and may be attached to an outgoing email
