Video Overlay Options

Options for Live Video Overlay

For applications that require video overlay windows to be displayed on the video wall then various options are available:

Option 1

The Vantage4-PRO and the iH4-PRO provide 1 video window per display channel (screen). The video overlay window can be positioned and sized anywhere, on any screen, on the video wall. including being maximised over the entire video wall with no restriction on scaling.

Restrictions: - Only 1 video overlay window on each screen, video overlay windows cannot overlap.

Option 2

Mosaic Video Windows

For more complex video overlay applications then combine the iH4-DIG with the Mosaic card. In this configuration it is possible to display up to 9 video overlay windows per screen.

Restrictions:

  • Maximum of 9 video windows on one screen.
  • Maximum of 4 Mosaic cards per iH4-DIG (36 Video Windows).
  • Maximum of 16 Mosaic cards in one system (144 video windows).
  • Each Mosaic window can only display 1 video source (VisionSwitch can be used to remove this restriction).

Option 3

Mosaic combined with VisionSwitch

For applications that require each Mosaic window to be able to view more than 1 video input then use the VisionSwitch card in "stand-alone" mode in conjunction with the Mosaic. The outputs from VisionSwitch are connected to the Mosaic input. Each Mosaic input can now select 1 of 16 or 32 possible video sources. Contact Datapath sales for details.

Option 4

SIP Video Bus

By combining the iH4-SIP/Vantage4-SIP with the Mosaic-SQ16 you can have almost unrestricted video overlay capabilities. The Mosaic-SQ16 can capture up to 16 video channels which can be positioned and sized anywhere on the multi-screen desktop.

Restrictions:
  • Maximum of 16 video windows on one screen.
  • Maximum of 8 Mosaic-SQ16 cards per iH4/Vantage4-SIP card or group of cards.
  • Maximun of 64 video windows per graphics adapter.
  • Maximum of 128 video windows per system.
  • Built in Video Switch on the Mosaic-SQ16.
