Datapath, world-leading engineers of visual solutions, has been shortlisted for this year’s AV Awards with its latest-generation Fx4 display wall controller. The Fx4 has been named as a finalist in the Digital Signage Product of the Year category. AV Award judges will reveal the winner at a prestigious ceremony staged at Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane in September.
Each awards category is independently judged by no fewer than 30 of the most respected end-user and consultant judges in the industry, with more than 500 years of experience between them.
This year, the standard of AV Awards entries was as high as ever, but the judges have chosen their finalists for the products categories, and Datapath is extremely proud that the Fx4 has been shortlisted.
The Fx4 is a multi-faceted stand-alone display controller that supports a choice of inputs, high bandwidth loop-through and four genlocked outputs in either DisplayPort or HDMI interface protocols, offering a myriad of possibilities for end users.
Among many unique features, the high performance Datapath Fx4 is capable of source capture at up to 4k at 60 fps or UHD 2160p at 30fps respectively. Developed for true stand-alone operation, the non-volatile operation of the Fx4 can adapt to input changes by automatically adjusting all scale factors. The intuitive user interface allows customers to determine which input is used.
Each output monitor can take its input from any region of the input image as all of the required cropping, scaling, rotation and frame-rate conversion is handled by the Fx4 hardware. These regions can overlap to permit any output to replicate another, or can be configured to support any creative splice of the source material. This functionality allows the support of many non-rectangular screen arrangements, as well as any mix of monitor orientations, permitting users to create an almost unlimited multi-monitor canvas. HDCP content is supported on all inputs and outputs.
Ultimately, the AV Awards recognise best practice, and reward excellence and innovation. At this year’s awards ceremony, over 1,200 professionals from across the global AV industry – manufacturers, distributors, resellers, integrators, consultants and end-users – along with production, event, rental and staging companies, will be present.
