Datapath Ltd, the Derby-based innovator of computer graphics, video capture and video wall display technology, today announced the general availability of new ImageDP4 graphics card. Datapath also announces the release of the DisplayPort accessories – DPextend and DPadapt, to enable long cable runs for larger video walls.
ImageDP4 Description and Features:
The ImageDP4 combines a single, powerful graphics processor with enhanced memory and PCI Express bandwidths to provide responsive performance at up to double the resolution of previous Datapath graphics cards.
Advanced display technology allows up to 16 ImageDP4 graphics cards to be supported by the Datapath display driver, providing a high resolution Windows® desktop comprising up to 64 screens. This new graphics card supports images rotation of 90, 180 and 270 degrees, use of displays with different resolution and size at the same time, and screen overlap for edge blending applications.
This four channel DisplayPort graphics card is optimised for use with the Datapath Vision range of capture cards for systems requiring video overlays from a wide range of sources and resolutions. The new ImageDP4 graphics card now offers real time video performance in HD mode for every pixel across any video wall.
The new Datapath ImageDP4 offers:
- Leading edge 600MHz graphics processor with 512MB GDDR at 800MHz
- PCI Express 2.1 bus interface supporting x4, x8 and x16 widths
- High output resolution from 4 x Datapath 1.1a video ports, each providing up to 359 Mpixels per second at 24 bit
- Supports HDCP in conjunction with Datapath capture cards
- Passive cooling
“The ImageDP4 represents a major upgrade to the Datapath Wall Controller platform in both video and graphics capabilities” said Bjorn Krylander, CEO at Datapath and continued “additionally we got lot of new products in the pipeline which will redefine how Wall Controller solutions can be built for substantially increased flexibility, higher performance, and ultimately fulfilling a vision of instant team collaboration and management of vast information flows from remote and local sources.”
DPextend and DPadapt Description and Features:
The Datapath DPextend module allows the DisplayPort outputs of the Datapath ImageDP4 video graphics card to drive resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600 x 60Hz over 30m into a native DisplayPort monitor.
Key features of the DPextend:
- Supports all DisplayPort 1.1a resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 (up to 385Mpixels/sec)
- Connects two 15m DisplayPort cables to provide 30m cable runs.
- Supports HDCP
The DPextend also compensates for voltage losses in the cables to allow it to additionally forward power to a DPadapt module for ultimate conversion to DVI.
The Datapath DPadapt module is an active DisplayPort to DVI converter which allows the Datapath ImageDP4 graphics card to drive legacy single-link DVI monitors at up to 165Mpixels/s.
Key features of the DPadapt:
- Active DisplayPort to DVI conversion at up to up to 1920 x 1200
- Supports up to 15m DisplayPort input cables.
- Supports single link DVI-D output
- Combining with a DPextend, cable runs of up to 35m
Unlike other DisplayPort to DVI converters which have short, fixed DisplayPort connections, the DPadapt can accept a long input cable, allowing it to utilise the improved cable driving performance of the DisplayPort signal standard.
