Outgoing x4 drives a legacy of award-winning replacements

Datapath-x4-Right-2

Datapath’s legendary display controller, the x4, has become end of life as of July 2019.

The x4, when introduced in 2010, began a revolution in video wall and display management. Coupled with our renowned Wall Designer software, it allowed users to control their video walls with ease. Such was its reputation that it has often been imitated by fellow manufacturers, who have been unable to match Datapath’s power, simplicity and reliability for video control. Used in countless thousands of installs around the globe, the x4 has, undoubtedly, been one of the great success stories in video wall controllers.

However, time and technology wait for nobody and the demands of today’s displays, and the creative way in which they are applied, has seen Datapath develop worthy replacements to the x4, with products that have proven to be even more popular than their predecessor:

Fx4 - The Datapath Fx4 is a multi-faceted standalone display controller that supports a choice of inputs, high bandwidth loop-through as well as 4 genlocked outputs in either DisplayPort or HDMI. Running Wall Designer software, the Fx4 brings unlimited possibilities to displays and is regularly at the heart of the world’s most creative displays, including projection mapping and the most creative of video wall mosaics.

Fx4-SDI - All the benefits of the Fx4, but with added connectivity. Fast transmission speeds are paramount to project success, with large distances needing to be covered by vast networks of cables. A choice of 3G-SDI, DisplayPort1.2 and HDMI1.4 inputs, the Datapath Fx4-SDI offers up to 4K 4096 x 2160 p at 60fps. An intuitive UI allows users to determine which input is used.

Hx4 - A popular choice for advertising boards, corporate signage and live event visuals, the cost effective Hx4 is both easy to use and simple to set up. The Hx4 features a HDMI 1.4 main input allowing for capture of signals up to 2160p at 30fps. Four HDMI outputs up-scaled to full HD ensure content is visually at the highest possible quality. What's more, an Ethernet port allow users to add the device to their networks, meaning the Hx4 can be reprogrammed from a remote location.
