Datapath, award-winning engineers of visual solutions, will be demonstrating their latest VSN video wall controllers for the first time at InfoComm, Las Vegas. Getting its public debut at the Las Vegas Convention Center will be the next generation high-end VSN Series – Datapath’s latest video wall controllers designed for environments that demand high performance and reliability
The VSN Series, used in premium command and control rooms around the world and now available to the US market, has been developed and optimized to operate with the latest generation of Datapath’s PCI Express graphics and video capture cards, providing flexible solutions for today’s AV integrators and engineers.
The most recently updated is the VSN 4 Series, which now includes Intel’s 7th generation Kaby Lake Core i5 processor, with the option to upgrade to a Core i7 processor where needed. Compatible with Datapath’s full portfolio of Vision capture, Image graphics and SQX IP decode cards, the VSN 4 Series can provide up to 16 HD outputs or 16 HD inputs. Its power and flexibility mean that two ImageDP4+ graphics cards and two VisionSC-HD4+ capture cards can be used to create a video wall with eight monitors and eight capture channels.
Backed up by Datapath’s world-renowned 9-slot and 11-slot VSN controllers – updated last year – the offering to the US market is the most powerful and reliable to date.
With the latest additions to the range bringing quieter operation and more efficient performance, the scalability of Datapath’s latest VSN controllers makes them suitable for a wide variety of markets including; security, military, utilities, airport and traffic management.
The new VSN series features switched fabric technology which ensures that each Gen3 PCIe slot in the backplane can deliver high-resolution bandwidth from a range of capture cards to multiple outputs. Datapath latest controllers are supplied with RAID configured 240GB or 480GB SSD drives that provide much quicker, quieter performance over traditional hard-disk drives. Modifications to the chassis design also help improve airflow, which again serves to reduce temperature, fan noise and ensure rock-solid reliability.
The VSN 9 slot and 11 slot systems are complete with a choice of Intel Core i7 or dual Xeon processor, 32GB of RAM, dual SSD drives and an RPSU power supply.
The introduction of our VSN controllers to the US market brings exciting possibilities to Datapath, as managing director, Bjorn Krylander, explains: “This is the first year our high-end controllers have been available to North America markets and we are excited to be showing the very latest additions on our InfoComm booth. VSN solutions are used in the most prestige command and control rooms in the world and the potential to develop our offering in North America is huge.”
He added: “The latest additions to the range bring even better operation and flexibility and offer US distributors and integrators the ability to spec Datapath’s renowned and proven reliability. We have made considerable investment in our US resources and staff, with the aim of providing the best local support to our customers. We want customers to know they have the full support of Datapath’s expertise when they work with us.”
Along with the availability of their VSN range, visitors to Datapath’s stand will see the improved Quant application software in action. The team at Datapath have spent the last year focusing on improved user experience and added features. Designed to work in harmony with video walls as well as individual desktops, users can share any application and edit in real time – all with fully controllable user and editing rights for total peace of mind.
Offering wide, cross-market appeal, Quant has been designed to work in conjunction with Datapath’s WallControl 10 software. With its secure sharing structure, this enables Quant to be equally suitable for Command & Control rooms as it is for classrooms, boardrooms and training centres.
Datapath will have the full host of its full US team on-hand to answer any customer questions. Visitors to their North Hall stand will also be able to see regular practical demos of Datapath hardware and software in action.
