Datapath, world-leading engineers of visual solutions, have updated their display wall controller Wall Designer software with EDID management for easier set up and configuration of displays. The software version 1.6.2 is live for download from the Datapath website.
Advancements in digital signage requirements mean that customers demand greater freedom in creating and deploying small, medium and large-scale signage projects. Datapath’s Fx4 next generation display wall controller is a multi-faceted stand-alone display controller that supports a choice of inputs, high bandwidth loop-through as well as 4 genlocked outputs in either DisplayPort, HDMI or SDI.
With version 1.6.2 of the Wall Designer software they now offer integrated EDID management, for even easier setup and deployment of input and output devices, while still offering its 10-bit colour handling (on SDI model) to take advantage of the latest 4K video.
The Datapath Fx4 and Fx4-SDI offers the perfect solution for staging and televised video walls. Delivering four HDMI, DP or SDI outputs and the ability to loop multiple units together, even the largest, most complex video wall installations are possible. Datapath’s intuitive Wall Designer software and fully features API means that whole projects can be quickly set up and easily managed.
With a choice of 3G-SDI, DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 inputs, the Datapath Fx4-SDI offers up to 4k 4096 x 2160p at 60 fps. The Fx4-SDI uniquely bridges the gap between the world of computer graphics and media playback and the robust, reliable transport offered by SDI.
The built in EDID management in the Wall Designer software makes setting up for a new project a breeze, with EDID information being passed to devices directly from the configuration software to the screens and player devices with no further configuration required.
Mark Rogers, product manager for Datapath, said: “Wall Designer for our x4 range of products has been designed and crafted with ease of use in mind for Installers and end users alike. Wall Designer is a flexible and constantly evolving configuration engine which is used with a wide range of video sources that all respond to EDID data slightly differently. We believe this new approach will simplify the installation process saving our customers valuable time and money.”
