Airport and Aviation

Control rooms play an integral role in any airport, from monitoring security of the terminal building to managing flight paths from the control tower. A typical airport will have several control rooms, all monitoring different areas of the operation to ensure business continuity and maintain efficiency.
Incidences can occur at any moment, immediately disrupting the day-to-day operations and requiring immediate action and resolution from control room operators.

Air Traffic Control
Air Traffic Control (ATC) teams organize and expedite the flow of air traffic and monitor airspace and flight routes, ensuring the safety of landings and take-offs, and monitoring runway activity. All the while being prepared and ready to respond to any unexpected incidences, which could be anything from extreme weather to security threats.
Aetria integrates data from various information systems such as radar, weather forecasts, flight schedules, and security information. This allows operators to have a comprehensive and up-to-date view of the airport, enabling quick decision-making.
- Operator Access – A functionality of Aetria enables operators to instantly access and control any information system in real-time, potentially connected with multiple different technologies, across both LAN and WAN, whilst maintaining security at all times.
- Simple Control – Operators require access to several applications such as traffic management systems (ATM) and flight tracking maps. Operators can switch keyboard and mouse control between different systems across multiple screens, for intuitive access and control, with minimal training needed.
- Multi-screen canvas – Many air traffic control centers are located away from the main flight control towers where multiple screens are used to provide 360 views of the runways. Aetria is the perfect tool for operators to send visual data to other workstations for wider team viewing and more informed decision-making.
Airport Security
Airports are primary targets for criminal activity and terrorism. A high volume of people passing through the airport and on board flights are potentially at risk. Airport and aviation security implement several systems to mitigate security threats, with control rooms playing a pivotal part.
With Aetria, security departments can combine several systems into one centralized interface, including passenger pre-boarding screening, monitoring CCTV, restricted area identity cards, and vehicle security bollards. These system applications can be accessed and controlled across the entire operational view, enabling seamless control and collaboration.
Airport Surveillance – Enable Security Analysts to monitor hundreds of cameras for viewing on a centralized display of content, integrated with their existing airport surveillance system.
Control Security Applications – Seamlessly interact with Aetria sources alongside local applications including information management systems, communication software and airport operational databases (AODB).
Complete audit trail – Aetria’s multi-client feature allows each information system to be used multiple times for different situations. For example, visual data can be viewed and controlled by an operator, monitored on a video wall, and archived onto a recording server for audit and evidence purposes, at the same time.
Baggage Handling
Airport baggage handling operations face many challenges on a day-to-day basis. Staff must process a high volume of bags within a short space of time, ensuring smooth baggage handling from tagging to arrival/departure logistics. Factors such as security and health and safety must also be complied with, whilst any number of incidences could disrupt the process at any time. Aetria can be used to monitor baggage security whilst working alongside existing baggage management systems.
Camera Monitoring – Cameras following the baggage process can be monitored and shared on centralized workstations and video walls.
Capturing the Detail – Datapath’s Vision technology guarantees the highest quality of image to ensure every detail, from camera footage to scanners, is captured. In addition, the multi-client support enables usage of video and mages for monitoring and integration into multiple systems and applications.
Application Control – Third-party applications including the airport’s baggage reconciliation system, can be integrated, and run alongside all Aetria information systems.
